Plans have been lodged for a large scale residential development near the South-East Clare border.
Kerry firm KPH Construction is seeking permission to build over 100 homes in Athlunkard.
The proposal involves the construction of exactly 101 homes on a 2.8 hectare site bound by the Corbally Road to the East, and the Carraig Midhe housing estate to the South in the townland of f Knockballynameath.
The development would consist of 52 apartments and 49 houses , with a mix of one, two and three bed properties.
KPH Construction has also submitted a Part V proposal to Clare County Council, which is offering 20 of the dwellings for use as social or affordable housing.
The application also makes provision for 152 parking spaces, a kick about area , open spaces and walking and cycling connections.
A planning application fee of over €25,000 has already been paid to Clare County Council.
The local authority is accepting public submissions until April 10th and will make a decision by May 1st.
