Plans have been lodged for a large scale residential development near the South-East Clare border.
Kerry firm KPH Construction is seeking permission to build over 100 homes in Athlunkard.
The proposal involves the construction of exactly 101 homes on a 2.8 hectare site bound by the Corbally Road to the East, and the Carraig Midhe housing estate to the South in the townland of Knockballynameath.
The development would consist of 52 apartments and 49 houses , with a mix of one, two and three bed properties.
KPH Construction has also submitted a Part V proposal to Clare County Council, which is offering 20 of the dwellings for use as social or affordable housing.
The application also makes provision for 152 parking spaces, a kick about area , open spaces and walking and cycling connections.
A planning application fee of over €25,000 has already been paid to Clare County Council.
The local authority is accepting public submissions until April 10th and will make a decision by May 1st.
