Ennis could be in line for a major housing expansion.
Plans have been lodged for an additional 50 new homes to be built on the town’s outskirts.
The plans lodged by Pat Mulcair provide for exactly 53 homes to be constructed in the Dulick area near Oakleigh Wood Road on a 2.4 hectare site.
The proposed development consists of 16 duplex units, 33 terraced houses and 4 detached homes.
There’s a mix of two and three-bed properties and 90 parking spaces will also be included.
A Part V planning agreement has also been struck with the council, meaning up to 10 of the homes could be used for social and affordable housing.
The local authority is accepting submissions until November 11th and will make a decision by December 2nd.
