Planning Permission Sought For 39 Homes In Tulla

An East Clare town could soon be the home of an almost 40-unit housing development.

Ennis building company Woodhaven Developments Limited has put the proposal forward just nine months after An Bórd Pleanála upheld Clare County Council’s decision to reject its previous application for a similar development.

Woodhaven Developments applied for planning permission in May of 2022 for a 36-unit development at Church Road in Tulla.

The application was refused by Clare County Council in October of 2022 due to concerns regarding potential impact on visual aesthetics within the area.

The decision was subsequently appealed by the applicant but was upheld by An Bórd Pleanála in April of this year.

Now, the Ennis firm has submitted a second planning application for the same site and is this time looking to build 39 homes.

If approved, the development would consist of 32 two-storey semi-detached houses, four single-storey semi-detached houses, two two-storey semi-detached houses and one detached single-storey house.

The application also provides for ancillary site works and connection to public services.

Submissions relating to the development must be in by January 21st of next year while a final decision on the application is due to be made by the local authority by February 11th.
