A planning application has been lodged for a major solar farm in West Clare.
Vento Ludens Ltd is seeking permission to construct a 14.36 hectare development – that’s 35 acres – to include a single storey substation building, electrical transformer and other associated works.

It’s the first application lodged for such a development in the West of the county, though permission was granted for one in Ennistymon in North-West Clare over a year ago.
A decision is due by October 18th.
