The Primary Health Care Centre proposed for Shantraud in Killaloe, was given the green light by Clare County Council in November, subject to a number of conditions.

Plans for the development include a pharmacy, HSE services and General Practice floor space for non allocated private healthcare consultancy and health service meeting rooms.

But now the council’s decision has been appealed to an Bord Pleanala.

Amongst those who’ve appealed are Brian and Riona Grogan of Grogan’s Pharmacy and Opticians, Ballina, who previously argued that adequate infrastructure is not in place in Killaloe for the development.

Developers Action Enterprises Ltd. have also lodged an appeal, against one or some of the conditions that were attached to the planning permission, namely that the details of the occupier of some of the units be submitted to the planning authority.
