A planned motorway plaza on the outskirts of Ennis has hit another stumbling block.
Clare County Council has raised concerns about a proposal on wastewater treatment for the proposed site off the M18 motorway.
Clare County Council is seeking further information from Supermacs boss Pat Mcdonagh on plans to build the motorway service station at Kilbreckan in Doora, adjacent to Junction 12.
The plans have been lodged following a previous attempt to gain permission for a service station at that site, which was ultimately turned down by An Bord Pleanala.
The local authority is questioning a proposal to treat effluent on-site, prior to the construction of a new rising main, before discharging to the Clareabbey Wastewater Treatment plant.
Irish Water has also claimed that the plan is 'not acceptable'.
The Council's now seeking further information this, as well as details on planned signage and on how the development would affect flooding in the area.
