A plane was diverted to Shannon Airport this morning following a medical emergency.

The Boeing 787-800 Arkefly jet was en route from Cancun to Amsterdam, but landed at Shannon at around ten past nine this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene and a passenger was transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The plane departed Shannon Airport at ten to eleven and resumed it's flight.
