Among the measures will be a requirement that Companies should fill 15 percent of their vacancies from the Live Register over the next 18 months.

Under the three point plan, the 423-thousand people on the live register will be profiled so that employment supports can be tailored specifically for them.

Political Editor with the Irish Independent Fionnan Sheahan says the Department of Social Protection will to work with private companies and help people with the skills needed to get back to work.
