Volunteers in Ballyvaughan are welcoming the announcement of funding for the county's piers.
The government has allocated just over 230,000 euro to repair structures at four locations in Clare.
Liscannor, Ballyvaughan, Seafield and Kilbaha are to benefit from the latest announcement of funds.
This is ontop of almost 17 million euro granted to Clare County Council on foot of the recent severe storms.
The Minister for Agriculture and the Marine had seen the damage at Liscannor first-hand, during a visit to the county last month, and Deputy Pat Breen says he is aware of the need for the money.
Extensive damage was caused to all four piers as a result of the poor weather throughout January and February with the cost of repairs estimated to be several thousand euro.
The Vice Chair of Ballyvaughan Development Committee Donal Monaghan has welcomed the announcement.
