Almost 4 million euro in compensation has been awarded to claiments in County Clare by the Injuries Board.
New figures for 2009 show its a modest rise on the previous 12 months but the number of workplace accident claims fell.

A total of 3.8 million euro was awarded to 70 claimants.
That amounts to a rise of almost 30 on 2008 figures, though the total monies paid out rose only slightly.
Three-quarters of the injuries were as a result of road accidents.
