A lack of pay parity is believed to be resulting in one in five early years workers leaving the sector each year.
Early Childhood Ireland is urging the Government to name the date when early years and school age care graduates’ pay and conditions will be in line with primary school teachers.

The representative body has 155 members settings in Clare and the annual staff turnover rate currently stands at 22.4%.
Frances Byrne of Early Childhood Ireland says families would see a reduction in fees if pay parity was achieved.
