Up to 30 people gathered in Craughan Cemetery at around 8 o’clock on Sunday night for the bare knuckle fight between two settled Traveller families based in Limerick.
However the gardaí were alerted by members of the public and several arrests were made – all those held were subsequently released without charge.
Describing such fights as barbaric Martin Collins of Pavee Point says its a practice most members of the travelling community condemn.
