The Irish Patients Association is seeking reassurances from the region’s main hospital that recommendations from an independent review are being implemented as trolley numbers continue to spiral.
97 patients are waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick this morning, with 47 of those in the Emergency Department.

The 2019 Independent Review of Unscheduled Care Performance report into practices in nine HSE-run hospitals across the country was released a fortnight ago, having been withheld by the HSE themselves for being ‘outdated’.
However spokesperson from the Irish Patients Association Stephen McMahon has been telling Clare FM’s Rebecca O’Sullivan that huge concerns still exist that the guidance in the report hasn’t been followed.
