Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport were down 22% on pre-pandemic levels in the first half of this year.
In the first six months of 2022, 586,600 passengers passed through the regional airport compared to 738,300 in the same period in 2019.

June’s departures and arrivals were nearly 19% lower than the June of 2019 – with 148,000 travelling through the airport this year and nearly 179,000 in 2019.
The airport has previously stated that a return to pre-pandemic activity will take until at least 2025.
