Parish Priest Says Desire for Choice Should be Catered for

The Parish Priest in Shannon has aired his disappointment that plans for a crematorium there have stumbled at the final hurdle. 

The facility – which has been granted planning permission – will now not go ahead as Clare Councillors have voted against selling the land for the venture. 

Fr Tom Ryan says there's demand in the county for crematorium – this has been backed up by a poll of visitors to Clare.fm. 

79 per cent say they'd like to see a facility built here, with 18 per cent against and four undecided.
