Parents Urged To Be Mindful of Their Childrens’ Diets

Parents in Clare and beyond are being urged to pay particular attention to their childrens’ diets, as new National Healthy Eating Guidelines for 1 to 4 year-olds are launched.

Developed by nutrition experts, the guidelines include a newly designed children’s food pyramid which will help people understand what their child should be eating, what portion sizes look like and how seldom treats should be given.

The guidelines also recommend that Vitamin D supplements are given to young children each day between Halloween and St. Patrick’s Day.
