It’s claimed many Clare parents are handing out the equivalent of a second mortgage in paying childcare costs.
A report by Pobal reveals that childcare costs in Clare now average €157.72 per child, per week – adding up to over €630 a month.

It’s also led to concern that women are being forced to put their careers on hold to be a stay at home parent, meaning they’ll suffer financially either way.
