PAC Chairman insists his credibility remains intact

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee says he doesn’t consider that his credibility has been damaged by recent revelations.

John McGuinness also says that he doesn’t believe his role as PAC Chairman has been damaged.

He has come in for criticism after suggesting taxpayers should foot the bill for ministers to take their spouses with them when they travel abroad on state business.

The Fianna Fail TD insists he acted appropriately when a Junior Minister – but he says what was acceptable in 2007 is not acceptable now.
