Significant overcrowding is continuing at the region’s main hospital today.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 94 people were waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds.

It’s nearly double the numbers waiting in the next busiest facility, which is St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny where 54 patients were recorded on trolleys today.
The UL Hospitals Group is continuing to warn patients of ‘exceptionally long’ waits for care in its emergency department, after its busiest weekend ever recorded.
People are being asked to consider attending Injury Units, GPs, out-of-hours GP services and pharmacists before presenting at UHL.
