The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is three times that of any other facility in the country.
The latest figures from the INMO show a surge in patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick today, with 43 waiting to be admitted, 26 of those on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

The overall figures is 29 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 166 patients have been left waiting for beds at the country’s hospitals.
