Overcrowding At UHL Remains High Heading Into Weekend

Overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains high heading into the weekend.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s reported 72 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick as of 8am this morning.

44 of those people are in the emergency department, with a further 28 in overflow areas of wards.

 

The Dooradoyle facility has once again topped the overcrowding table nationwide today, on a day when 542 patients were waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
