Overcrowding At UHL Almost Double Any Other Hospital

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost double that of any hospital in the country today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 55 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 29 of those in the emergency department.

It’s 27 more than the next busiest facility – South Tipperary General Hospital – and comes on a week when there have been in excess of 50 people on trolleys every single day.
