Overcrowding Spiralling Once Again As 97 Recorded On Trolleys At Region’s Main Hospital

There’s been a significant jump in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 97 on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 42 of those in the Emergency Department alone.

The overall figure is the third highest number ever recorded by any hospital in the country and is just short of double the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital.
