Nurses say 52 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick today.

The region’s main hospital remains the most overcrowded in the country once again today, according to the latest figures from the INMO, with more than a dozen more patients waiting on trolleys than any other Irish hospital.

31 patients are waiting on admission in the emergency department, while a further 21 are being accomodated in overflow areas of wards.
