Overcrowding Increases At UHL Over The Weekend

Overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has increased slightly over the weekend.

There are 53 patients waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick today according to the INMO – more than double that of any other facility.

41 of those waiting in Limerick are in the emergency department, with 12 in overflow areas of wards.

It comes on a day when 179 patients are on trolleys in hospitals across the country, with almost a third of these waiting at UHL.
