Nurses say the region’s main hospital is continuing to suffer from extremely high levels of overcrowding today.

Figures from the INMO show that there were 65 patients seeking admission at University Hospital Limerick earlier, 40 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

It has eased slightly from the 72 that were without a bed on Friday but remains the most overcrowded facility in the country today and is 13 more than the next busiest hospital.
