Overcrowding At UHL Double The Next Busiest Facility

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains double that of any other facility in the country.

The latest daily analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisations shows there were 101 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds.

It’s 52 more than Galway University Hospital, which was the second busiest in the country today.

Overall, 598 patients were left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country today, according to the nurses’ union.
