Over €150,000 in grant funding has been awarded to historic buildings in Clare.
The allocation comes as part of an €8.1 million Government announcement made today and will go towards the repair and restoration of older buildings with complex needs.
Clare has been given a total allocation of €153,445 under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2025.
The greatest beneficiary is Crotty’s in Kilrush which has been granted €40,000 for roofs and rainwater disposal.
St Augustine’s Church in Kilshanny has received €30,000 which will go towards windows, doors, associated elements and roofs.
An allocation of €15,000 meanwhile has been awarded to Kilnasoolagh Church in Newmarket-on-Fergus for the purpose of interiors.
Other buildings in Clare which have received funding are 1 Lower McDonnell Terrace in Kilkee, St Columba’s Church in Ennis, Christ Church in Spanish Point, Glencairn House in Ennis, St Brigid’s Church in Corofin and Land Steward’s Cottage in Corofin.
A further €12,275 meanwhile has been allocated to Fintra More Cottage in Miltown Malbay under the Historic Thatched Buildings Scheme 2025.
