Over half a dozen housing developments across Clare are empty or remain under developed.
New figures show that there are 9 so called ghost estates in the county following the collapse of the property market.
The CSO statistics show that work on 440 new homes which began in 2009 was still ongoing up to the end of last April while a further 378 developments were completed in Clare in 2010

Overall nationwide there are more than 300 thousand vacant units in 620 ghost estates in towns and villages across the county with the exception of Limerick City which presently has no such ghost estates.
