The Minister for Justice has confirmed that over 900 arrest warrants remain outstanding for the Clare Garda Division.

A breakdown of figures shows around two-thirds of these are for penal warrants, which Minister Shatter says relates relate to the payment of fines.
There are also 258 unexecuted bench warrants and 47 are commital warrants.
The figures are the second lowest for any of the Garda Divisions, and the Minister insists ‘the vast majority…do not relate to violent or the more serious’ pffemces.
Nationally, as of the middle of this month, there were over 124-thousand outstanding arrest warrants.
