Clare County Council has seen a 33% increase in waste complaints in the first month of the year.
January saw nearly 50 complaints of illegal dumping in this county.
In total, the local authority received 46 illegal dumping complaints in January, marking a 12% increase on the 41 recorded in December.
Additionaly the council received a further 7 complaints relating to dog fouling, 3 for waste presentation and 15 for general littering.
An Garda Siochána were also tasked in the course of Clare’s waste enforcement operations, with 18 abandoned vehicles reported across the county aswell.
In all, there were 71 waste complaints made to the council, which was 33% above the level recorded in December.
