Over 2,500 Clare families will receive a payment intended to help with back-to-school costs next month.
Applications are now open for the Back-to-School Clothing and Footwear Allowance which provides a once-off payment to eligible families towards the cost of school clothing and footwear.

The rate of payment for the 2025 round of the scheme is €160 for children aged four to 11 and €285 for those over the age of 12 in second-level education.
More than 114,000 families nationwide will automatically receive the allowance in July including 2,572 in Clare.
