The number of people homeless in Clare has risen by 7% within the last month.
Data from the Department of Housing shows that in the last week of September 80 people in the county were accessing emergency accommodation, five more than August of this year and 12 more than at the same time in 2023.

The number of people across the Midwest region living in emergency accommodation is 29% higher than it was this time last year with 532 adults living in emergency accommodation.
There has also been an increase seen in the number of children in emergency accommodation in the Midwest. As of the latest report there are now 201 child dependents compared to 137 at the same time in 2023
Nationally, there are now 8,923 adults living in homelessness.
