Over a hundred families and staff have held a rally through the streets of Kilrush this afternoon to highlight their anger and frustration over the closure of the West Clare Early Years Service.

Over recent days, detailed discussions had been ongoing with groups interested in taking over the delivery of the service in a number of the centres but Pobal says discussions haven't resulted in the groups being able to submit proposals.
The organisation says it fully understands and appreciates the frustration being felt by parents following the closure of five Early Years Childcare Centres in the county.
