Over 1 million passengers have already flown through Shannon Airport this year.
Between January and June, approximately 1.17m people either departed or touched down at Shannon, marking a 12% increase on the same period of last year.
The airport also recorded its busiest day in 17 years on Sunday 28th June, when 11,400 passengers travelled through Shannon, reflecting strong peak-season demand.
In a statement to Clare FM, Shannon Airport Group CEO Ray O’Driscoll says “Growth at Shannon Airport is being driven by real demand, supported by new routes and more choice for passengers, reflecting the confidence of our airline partners and the strength of the region as a tourism and business destination. Our focus now is on capitalising on this momentum by continuing to grow connectivity and deliver a high-quality experience for passengers travelling through Shannon.”
