A west Clare Principal has described the use of over 40 prefabs as classrooms in Clare schools as "outrageous".

Figures released by the Education Minister show there are 41 prefabs currently in use in Clare schools, down from 55 just three years ago, when the government began an investment scheme in permanent accomodation.
The state will still spend nearly 14 million euro this year on renting 934 prefabs throughout the country.
Principal of Mullagh National School and past president of the INTO Sean McMahon says he cannot understand the massive spend.
