The Office of Public Works is set examine remediation options for a pyrite damaged Garda station in Clare.
The defective mineral was conclusively detected in Shannon’s station last November, with cracks in the walls first noted in 2022.

The OPW will publish a list of potential solutions to the problem by next month, but it says structural works won’t be necessary for at least the next five years.
Clare Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe wants to see the problem treated with urgency.
