Clare County Council estimated the cost of repairs and upgrade works at both sides at just under seven million euro.

Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen says he's also hopeful that Aughanish and Ross will be included in the reports.

Funding has already been provided for similar studies at Clohaninchy, Lahinch, Liscannor and Clahanes, with a view to gaining information on the protection works required in those areas.
