Irish Water has indicated that orthophosphate will be added to the water supply in Limerick on a trial basis to reduce levels of lead in the supply.
But the water utility company has confirmed that some areas in East Clare will also be affected namely Parteen, Ardnacrusha and Clonlara.
Greg Doran from Right to Water Mid-West is calling on Irish water to meet with the local authorities in Clare and Limerick to outline the dangers involved with using this chemical.
