Traffic Problems at one of North Clare’s Most Controversial Road Junctions could be ended by simply knocking two historic buildings.
That’s the majority view from an opinion poll on Blakes Corner in Ennistymon, with 52% of those surveyed in favour of bulldozing the protected shop buildings.
1300 people took part in the poll on the clare.fm website, with just 8% of votes in favour of moving the historic buildings – the option favoured by Ennistymon Heritage Campaigners and currently being pursued by Clare County Council.
40% of those who took part in the online survey said they’d deal with traffic problems by by-passing the town of Ennistymon altogether.
