One Person Taken To Hospital Following Road Crash At Hurler’s Cross

One person has been taken to hospital following a road crash on the N18 near Shannon.

Emergency services were alerted following a single car collision near Hurler’s Cross this morning.

The alarm was raised just after 6 o’clock this morning after one car left the road just before the turn-off to Hurler’s Cross, near Shannon, on the northbound lane of the dual carriageway.

4 units of Clare County Fire Service, 3 from Shannon and 1 from Ennis, Gardaí and Ambulance attended the scene.

One man, the driver of the car, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where he’s bing treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be serious.

The road has been closed to one lane of traffic and Gardaí are urging motorists to slow down and drive with care when approaching the Hurler’s Cross turnoff.

It’s not yet known when the road will fully re-open.
