One Motorist Detected Speeding So Far In Clare In National Operation

A motorist has been clocked 19KM/H above the allotted speed limit in the South-East of the county this afternoon.

As part of a special operation for national slow down day , Go Safe and An Garda Síochana are operating speed checks across the country.

In the first ten hours of the operation, 261 vehicles have been detected travelling in excess of applicable speed limits.

One motorist on the N18 near Clonmoney West, Bunratty was clocked at 119km/h in a 100km/h Zone.

While another motorist in Kilkenny was detected driving at 142km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N25.

All motorists detected in excess of the speed limit throughout the day’s operation will receive three penalty points along with a €160 fixed charge.
