One Killed And One Seriously Injured In Separate Crashes

A man has been seriously injured in a road crash in Co Limerick.

The 21-year old was travelling in a car with two other men when it left the road at Ballycasey near Kildimo around 3am this morning.

The two other men are being treated for at University Hospital Limerick, however they're not thought to be badly hurt.

No other car was involved.

The seriously injured man has been taken to Cork University Hospital for head trauma.

Separately, Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a crash in Co. Louth last night.

Three other people, including a ten year old girl, were injured in the collision.

The fatal crash happened on the northbound carriageway of the M1 just after Junction 15 Castlebellingham at around half past ten.

A man in his 40s who is believed to be from Co. Louth died at the scene.

Two women, who were the drivers of the other cars, and a 10 year old girl are currently being treated at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
