New research has revealed there is one Garda for every 425 people in Clare.
The study carried out by the Irish Independent highlights a significant disparity in the number of Gardaí employed in different regions across the country.

County Waterford has the most favourable ratio with one Garda for every 338 people there, while Justice Minister Helen McEntee’s home county of Meath fares the worst with one Garda for every 703 people or 142 Gardaí for every 100,000 people.
As of the end of June, there were 301 Gardaí stationed in Clare and 13,892 employed nationwide which represents a national average of one Garda for every 371 people in the country.
