One of Clare’s greatest visionaries is being honoured in a new radio documentary to be broadcast later today.
Told from the perspectives of members of his family, friends, and colleagues, “Innovator” follows the story of Brendan O’Regan, who was the man behind transformative projects such as Duty-Free shopping, the Shannon free zone and Ireland’s first new town in over two centuries.
He was also voted Clare’s Greatest Ever Person in 2018.
The hour-long documentary, produced by Clare FM Programme Director Padraic Flaherty, coincides with the unveiling of a statue of Dr O’Regan in the Square, Sixmilebridge today, which will be attended by a number of members of the O’Regan family from Ireland and abroad.
“Innovator” will be broadcast on Clare FM from 11 o’clock this Monday morning.
