Age Action says older people around the country are choosing between food and fuel; and are going to bed early because they can’t afford to heat their homes.

It’s launched it’s pre budget submission – which calls on the Government to "poverty proof" elderly people next month.
The group says older people have been hit by new taxes and charges, cuts to allowances and services and rising prices.
