Oireachtas Moves to Tackle High Rates Welcomed in Clare

The Government has unveiled new measusres aimed at supporting job creation in Rural Ireland. 

The report is being cautiously welcomed here in Clare where commerical rates have been causing concern for business people and councillors alike.

It follows a series of hearings held last year to discuss the best ways to promote employment, while supporting job retention.

The document includes 15 recommendations including rate reductions by some local authorities for small independent businesses and free parking, for certain periods, in some towns.
