Clare County Council is calling for a dedicated Oireachtas committee to scrutinise ambulance response problems here.
The local authority is seeking a full investigation into an incident which resulted in a woman waiting three hours by the roadside following a single vehicle crash in Doonbeg.

It’s also requesting a probe into the awarding of the new Coast Guard Search and Rescue Aviation contract to Bristow Ireland, amid concerns over training, which it’s understood has restricted operating hours to between 8am and 8pm.
Kilrush Independent Councillor Ian Lynch says hard questions need to be answered.
