The European Commission says Ireland is making important progress in repairing the public finances and the banking sector and implementing economic growth measures.
In the third review as part of the EU/IMF bailout – the Commission says the results show Ireland is gradually returning to positive growth this year.

On Wednesday an IMF praised Ireland for sticking to the targets set out in the rescue deal – and also suggested a return to economic growth this year.
However the Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the Government will not be clapping itself on the back because of the scale of the challenge that still faces the country.
