The new Rose of Tralee says she only entered the competition because her mum saw an ad in a newspaper.
Junior Doctor Jennifer Byrne has become the first woman from Offaly to win the crown.
She says she’ll have to speak with her bosses at the Emergency Department at University Hospital Galway before deciding how she’ll combine the win with her high pressure job.
